Harry Styles Fans Are Eternally Torn Over Rumors of Pop Star Joining Marvel Cinematic Universe

In the midst of his Love On Tour, Harry Styles reportedly made a quick pit stop to the Marvel Cinematic Universe during Monday night's premiere of Chloe Zhou’s Eternals.

Variety senior film writer Matt Donnelly, who attended the premiere at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre, announced via Twitter on Tuesday (Oct. 19) that Styles appears in a post-credits scene as supervillain Thano's brother Eros (also known as Starfox), who was known as the god of love and sex in ancient Greek mythology. So naturally, his slate of superpowers include being able to arouse people from afar -- which doesn't sound far off from the alluring charm of the English pop superstar.

Styles continues to bulk up his acting résumé following his film debut in 2017's Dunkirk, with Olivia Wilde's Don't Worry, Darling slated for a Sept. 23, 2022, theatrical release, as well as Michael Grandage's My Policeman, which was shot earlier this year.

While Styles' fans felt frustrated that the "Watermelon Sugar" singer's alleged cameo was spoiled for them before Eternals' worldwide theatrical release on Nov. 5, rumors about his involvement in the MCU started circulating in September 2020 when Netflix writer Kris Tapley wrote and subsequently deleted a tweet about Styles starring in a Marvel movie "no one knows he’s in."
